At Urban Grid, we recognize the critical role utilities play in each of the solar and storage projects we develop, as an interconnection partner, or as a potential buyer of renewable energy or an operational generating plant.
As we have grown, Urban Grid has intentionally hired professionals from utilities and RTOs to build our organizational experience. We strive to understand our Utility partner’s needs, whether it be an IOU, Electric Coop or Municipal Power Agency, to ensure that our collaboration is successful. Urban Grid also works with our Utility partners to deliver the right type of power or asset that they need.

Our Qualifications
- Engineering Capabilities: our engineers have PV, Storage, Transmission and Traditional power plant design experience. We have built these capabilities internally to ensure control of the process as well as the cost effectiveness and high quality of our clean energy projects. Design is critical from the beginning of the process until the project is operational.
- Interconnection Experience: our Interconnection Team consists of former Utility professionals who have a deep understanding of utility interconnection and have seen the process from the other side. Our interconnection team is professional, efficient and solutions focused.
- Development, Permitting & Regulatory Experience: our Project Development group has over a century of experience successfully guiding solar projects through the development process. We are proud of our track record delivering high quality solar development assets to our utility partners.
- Origination Flexiblity: our Origination Team has decades of experience working with large utilities, electrical coops and public power. We strive to find the solution that best fits your utility’s needs and best serves your stakeholders.
